This is an incredible devotion and has ministered to my soul for years. Low star rating is only because the new updates have made it impossible to pass on an encouraging message to someone in need. I would rather pay more for the app and be able to share the good news with someone the Lord puts on my heart.

THANK YOU sooooo much for making changes to the app!!! Its so much better now! I hated the last update and stopped using it as a result!!! Glad to have larger letters and ability to copy and share!!! Such a blessing!

This is way better than the first two up dates. Finally larger letters. Its still a very sterile background, but definitely better than the last upgrade.

Thanks for the update! The app is wonderful again. Old post: I absolutely love Jesus Calling but this new update for the app is the worst. It isnt often that an update goes backwards but you accomplished it. Other than the look being worse the functionality is worse also. Reminders dont go away so they dont work. May have to go back to the book. Disappointed!

So much better!! This is getting closer to the original version before all the changes started! Now, I can finally get back to using this for my morning devotions. Thank you!

Almost a home run! I wanted you to know this is a big improvement, yet two more things need to be fixed: the nickname, if taken, erases our comments and the background is too bright. Give us an option to dial down the brightness of the background, please! My first two comments were better in my praise, but both disappeared when told the nickname was taken.

Thank you so very VERY much for your recently updated version of the Jesus Calling App. I enjoyed the previous version but this new version is even better. Im so grateful for what youve done & very excited about the fantastic version coming this summer. WOW-appreciate yall greatly!!!

I missed the beauty of the devotional with the last update. I feel like I got my "book" back! Thank you!

This update has really improved things. I am no longer disappointed every time I open the app. Only note- IMPORTANT- please make the bottom bar for the font/favorites/share tabs one that you have to tap the bottom of the screen for it to appear and stop it from always being visible. Its always on the bottom of the screen, so unless Im holding the screen up I CANT READ THE LAST LINE. I dont want to have to hold the screen to be able to read the last line. PLEASE FIX THIS.

First, let me say thank you for this most recent update... its better than the previous update that changed everything, but I would like to share a couple of comments/requests. As some other reviewers have said, the background on the pages still isnt nearly as aesthetically pleasing as it was on the "original" version. Ive kept that version on my iPhone after I mistakenly upgraded the app on my iPad a couple of months ago without having read the user reviews, which would have warned me of the unwelcome changes. Also, the new font isnt nearly as attractive or readable as the old font. Its just plain, re-sizable font and even the smallest font is too big. Cosmetically, it doesnt fit on the iPad screen, and the margins are too wide as well. They need to be brought in from the edges. Finally, the tool bar at the bottom is almost impossible to remove, probably due to sizing issues. I would still like my old version back, but I appreciate the movement in the right direction since youve apparently decided to ignore my request to "downgrade" back to the version I loved. Still keeping the old version on my iPhone...

I used to be able to send portions or all of the text from a date even w/a family member who has the App but needs encouragement that day. Can we get that back?

I never write reviews but I had to search this out because I have never been so disappointed! Ive read this on my iPad for years! It now looks just like an email typed out! It used to be beautifully displayed, easy to read, and I could view it either way on my iPad. Now I can only view it vertically. This is horrific. I dont know what you think you improved but its a joke. If it were a free app it would be one thing but since it cost quite a bit, its upsetting! I want my old way back.

Updating my review again. Better but still not right. The main issue is the top and bottom banners overwrite the screen.... They go away when I scroll and when I lift my finger they reappear and cover my text. It was better when they remained stationary. Hopefully this will be fixed in the new new new release. Id be happy with the original.

Regarding #3 on my review below, I discovered that the header and toolbar appear if you scroll up and they disappear when scrolling down. However it is very sensitive -- the scroll bar appears when barely scrolling up. Not sure about the logic or intuitiveness of this function...but if this has to be this way then it shouldnt be as sensitive as it is. It should only appear after a scrolling for a few lines, not when you might accidentally move your finger. Original review on 2.1 update: Ok, so it is better than the 2.0 update: Better font, screen doesnt move around when scrolling, etc but there is still room for improvement. 1) the option to increase the font size is a great feature but the font size on the smallest setting is actually TOO large. It takes a lot of scrolling to read. 2) the spacing between lines is TOO much now. Again lots if scrolling required. 3) and...when scrolling the header and optional menu at the bottom appears and disappears randomly. Its very distracting and takes up a lot of real estate -- which is already bad considering the font size and spacing. And the header and footer are really big. There are plenty of apps out there that maximize the screen space by making menus and headers only as large as the need to be. Im not sure why this is a problem for the developers... Worse case scenario.... I would rather it stay than come and go all the time. Anyway I was hoping for an app update that brought back the ease and enjoyment of the original version, but hopefully they will listen to feedback and incorporate it into the next update. Original review on version 2.0: Like many of you I was very disappointed in the recent updates to the app. I have had this app for years and almost never miss a day -- its been such an encouragement to me. But the recent platform update made it difficult to use. However, by the "letter" from the publisher, it appears they have heard the complaints and are working on fixing the issues. They have already increased the font size, but unfortunately they did not adjust the spacing between lines so the text is really crowded. Hopefully they will fix that, too. Actually...I really hope they change the uninspiring, generic font and the background altogether -- I like the font and the background in the letter from publisher so much better. Hint, hint. :-) Theres one other problem that I found.. If you are selecting a previous date from the list, the list scrolls like crazy and then you have to find the date again. One enhancement I would like to see is when you are in a particular days reading, the option to go to the next day or previous day from that screen without having to go back to the list. Anyway, I am hanging in to hope that my beloved app will be even better in the end!

Why can you only copy 300 characters? I still miss the old app~

I have used this everyday for more than 5 years. I stopped using it with the last update because my heart couldnt bear to read the new platform. I went to my bible instead. Regardless, my request for this new app update is the ability to copy and paste a whole days reading. While I understand you are concerned about copyright issues, Gods word is for all to hear or see. And when I can only copy 300 characters at a time I cannot share these words of encouragement with my pre-Christian or Christian friends because Im only getting to share a portion of it. Please go back to allowing us to share a whole reading.
